Peppers pups (Coming 12-23)'s story
For Adoption:
5 pups 2 male 3 female available 12-23. On October 28th, our rescue partners in TN received a call from a man whose dog, Pepper a 35# Lab/Springer Spaniel mix, was in labor. She had accidentally mated with the neighbor's St. Bernard mix. The first pup was born dead and 4 healthy puppies later Pepper was in trouble. A Voice for Pets alerted the Airport Emergency Clinic that a man was on his way with his dog who was in distress. Upon their arrival, the Emergency Clinic immediately performed a C-section and were able to save the remaining 3 puppies. Pepper, however, due to hours of fruitless pushing, had sustained a prolapsed uterus for which she needed additional surgery. Most likely due to pain, Pepper rejected her puppies and the owner Paula, our director, took over with bottle-feeding the puppies. Luckily within a few days, Pepper began to accept her pups although during the bottle-feeding phase we were not able to save 2 of the puppies. This story presents 8 reasons to do everything you can to spay (and neuter) your animals.  Throughout all of this, A Voice for Pets has incurred a bill at the Airport Emergency Clinic of $1,037.18. We are appealing to anyone who can help us with this bill; donations may be made directly to A Voice For Pets via PayPal /AVoiceForPets (please remember, your kind donations are tax deductible).
