DOSSET's story
MEET DOSSET! A 7-8 month old, female, American Rescue with similarities to a heeler mix. She currently weighs 22 lbs and stands 15 inches at the shoulder. Dosset ended up at the shelter in August 2018 after her owner came to surrender her. Because the shelter was at max capacity, he was asked to come back at a later date when there was an open kennel. Instead, he stormed out angrily with Dosset and as he drove away threw this poor puppy out his car window onto the hard pavement. As a result, Dosset had to be quickly transported to the vet with a bad head and leg injury, along with other scuffs and abrasions. Thankfully, Dosset survived her owners vengeful and abusive response. She still has a slight mark on her head from the fall, but is recovered enough to now find a real forever home.
Dosset is a typical happy, active, playful puppy. She is good with other dogs and shows curiousity toward cats. She would make a great hiking companion or pet for an active family who is willing to continue her puppy training so she develops into a well-behaved adult. Dosset is fully vetted, up to date on her shots and will be spayed before adoption. If you would like to give this little girl a forever home, please fill out our online application at
